WASHINGTON July 1, 2025— The budget reconciliation bill that passed the Senate today will have devastating consequences for the American health care system and the health of the American public. The American College of Physicians (ACP) called on the Senate to fix issues in the House-passed version of the legislation that would harm health care, and instead the Senate version would have even more devastating consequences than the House version. The Congressional Budget Office now estimates that the bill will cause nearly 12 million Americans to become uninsured. The House needs to reject this bill and keep it from becoming law for the sake of the health of the American public.
