Candidate Bios
Candidate Statement: I appreciate being considered a candidate for Governor of the SD ACP chapter. I have a broad background in clinical practice which included a traditional in and outpatient practice. I was also active in student and resident medical education. This evolved into an outpatient practice which I left to become the Chief Medical Officer for my organization. This role involved leading peer review, quality, and safety improvement for in and outpatient practices. The CMO role also involved application of State and Federal regulations. One year ago I changed positions at my organization to become the Chief Physician for Sanford Sioux Falls, SD. This role involves business development, compensation and employment of physicians and APPs. I have maintained an adult hospitalist practice during this time performing 30 hospitalist shifts per year. I would be excited to apply my experience to advocate for and educate fellow internists in South Dakota and nationally.
