Emerging Leaders Internal Medicine Meeting Travel Award
The Emerging Leaders Internal Medicine Meeting Travel Award opens the door to new opportunities for early career physicians serving underresourced communities and practices.

Created as part of ACP Executive Vice President and CEO Emerita Dr. Darilyn V. Moyer’s legacy and her commitment to developing the next generation of internal medicine leaders, the award provides financial support to attend the annual ACP Internal Medicine Meeting, ACP’s premiere educational event for internal medicine physicians and subspecialists around the globe. The annual meeting provides opportunities to connect with leaders, build meaningful relationships, and grow as a future leader in internal medicine. Through this experience, emerging leaders can expand their network, strengthen their skills, and bring new ideas and inspiration back to the communities they serve.
Program Goals
- Expand Access: Reduce financial barriers so emerging physician leaders serving underserved communities can participate in ACP Internal Medicine Meetings.
- Invest in Leadership: Provide emerging leaders with meaningful opportunities to build connections, gain knowledge, and strengthen leadership skills.
- Build Community and Impact: Foster a diverse network of physicians who bring what they learn at ACP Internal Medicine Meetings back to their communities and broader internal medicine community.
Support to Make Attendance Possible
Each awardee receives a $2,500 stipend to support meeting attendance. The stipend may be used for costs including registration, travel, and lodging, while giving awardees the flexibility to make the arrangements that work best for them.
Awardees will also be notified in time to take advantage of early registration, providing an opportunity to take advantage of discounted registration rates and maximize their stipend.
