ACP National Abstract Competition FAQs
Do I need to be an ACP member to submit an Abstract?
Yes. The first author (also known as the submitting author) must be an ACP member in good standing—meaning dues are paid—at the time of submission. Acceptable membership categories include Medical Student, Resident/Fellow, Early Career Physician, or Transitional Medical Graduate (for Resident/Fellow competitions only).
How do I become an ACP member?
You can apply for ACP membership online. After your application is successfully submitted, you will receive an ACP membership number. To ensure your eligibility for abstract submission, we recommend joining early, preferably 24 hours before the deadline.
Can a colleague submit an abstract on my behalf and later transfer authorship once I obtain a valid ACP membership?
No. Abstracts must be submitted using the ACP membership number of the primary author (submitting author). You may not use another person’s membership number to submit. The submitting author is considered the primary author and will be responsible for presenting if the abstract is selected as a podium winner or poster finalist. Co-authors are not permitted to present in their place.
Failure to follow these guidelines will result in disqualification.

Can I purchase multiple abstract submission passes at once?
