ACP has been a wonderful professional home, and I have met and collaborated with many accomplished physician members. My clinical, administrative, and leadership experiences at MSK and ACP has given me the tools to navigate complex situations, turn ideas into reality, and lead in the face of challenges. I wholeheartedly embrace ACP’s Strategic Priorities to address the new generation of Internal Medicine Physicians, seek to explore changes to workforce dynamics, support the expansion of innovative approaches to continuous professional learning, focus on finding opportunities to grow and retain ACP members, and strengthen the relationship between ACP and the Chapters. I am confident that I have the necessary experience and skills to be an excellent Governor who will be able to contribute meaningfully to the work of the NY Chapter and ACP’s Board of Governors.

Areas of Professional Interest and Expertise: 1) Clinical Medicine: As a hospitalist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), I supervise a team of residents and students to provide outstanding clinical care for patients admitted to the inpatient general medicine and oncology services. Many of my patients struggle with complex medical and psychosocial issues and often need transition to end of life care. I focus on clear communication to help my patients and family members understand their options and cope during these stressful times. As the inpatient leader, I aim to create a cohesive team dynamic and a safe learning space so that trainees learn a wide range of clinical skills from general medicine and oncology to other topics such as conflict resolution and effective communication. 2) Clinical Education: My passion for clinical education began early in my career when I served as Director of the MSK Clinical Medicine and Oncology Sub-Internship. I created a rigorous curriculum for teaching the essential clinical reasoning skills that would fully prepare medical students for internship. Expanding my leadership role, I became the Director of Medical Student Education for the MSK Department of Medicine. Building upon these early successes, I assumed leadership on a larger scale as Director of the MSK TY Residency Program, a one-year internship providing graduate medical education in multiple clinical disciplines. As the MSK TY program director, I strive to cultivate a positive learning environment, promote a culture of growth and comradery and ensure that the trainees receive an outstanding, well-rounded clinical and educational experience. I lead all aspects of the MSK TY residency program including trainee assessment and remediation, clinical curriculum development, TY core faculty development, TY program evaluation, annual TY recruitment and maintain compliance with all ACGME requirements. I regularly collect feedback from trainees and TY faculty to modify the curriculum and improve the TY program. Present at the ground level, I am available to problem-solve and address issues involving interns, residents, chief residents and supervising faculty. 3) Faculty Development and Physician Wellbeing: I have a long-standing interest in physician wellbeing and faculty development and have created several lectures and workshops delivered to a wide range of MSK departments to teach topics such as tools to give effective feedback, teaching efficiently and effectively and managing physicians with mental health issues and psychological distress. I also founded the GME Wellbeing Subcommittee where we developed several initiatives to promote physician well-being for GME trainees. On a regional and national level with American College of Physicians (ACP), I helped establish two successful virtual monthly programs, Wisdom and Wellbeing and Small Feedings of the Soul: Readings and Reflections. These programs strive to promote faculty development, physician wellbeing and foster community for physicians at various stages of their career.

Candidate Statement: I am honored to be considered for the NYACP Board of Governors and motivated to serve the Manhattan district during a transformative time for internal medicine. As Chair of the Early Career Physicians Committee and Manhattan District Councilor, I’ve championed statewide initiatives in mentorship, career development, and gender equity. I bring deep expertise in medical education, serving as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency and Director of Medical Student Electives at Mount Sinai, where I oversee more than 100 electives for Sinai students, visiting U.S. students, and international medical students. My work bridges undergraduate and graduate medical education, fostering innovation and equity. I also bring statewide leadership experience as President of NY RAIME and Chapter Leader for the Society of Hospital Medicine. Through collaboration, inclusive leadership, and a strong mentorship ethos, I hope to amplify the voices of internists and strengthen our profession through advocacy, education, and service.
