Voting Information

Voting for the next Governor-elect begins September 26, 2025, and concludes on November 7, 2025.

Eligible voting members (MACPs, FACPs, Members, and 2-year Resident/Fellow Members with an elect date of 9/1/2023 or earlier) will receive an election email containing their unique and personal voting credentials to vote online.

  • Ballot materials are not sent from ACP directly. ACP has partnered with Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS) to conduct the election.
  • Please add noreply@directvote.net as an approved sender so that your ballot arrives safely in your inbox. The subject of the ballot email is “Vote Now! ACP 2025 Governor-elect Election Voting Information”.

Candidate Bios

Candidate Statement: I have been actively involved with the American College of Physicians Ontario Chapter for over 15 years in diverse roles leading a variety of committees and initiatives. As a cardiologist, clinician investigator, and academic leader, I am deeply committed to advancing excellence in patient care, education, and advocacy. Through my roles as Chair of the Ottawa Model for Smoking Cessation and Director of the Hypertension Program, I have led national initiatives improving cardiovascular prevention and public health outcomes. I bring expertise in implementation science, digital health innovation, and health policy, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications, $3 million in grant funding, and leadership on national clinical guidelines. I am passionate about mentoring future physicians and strengthening our collective voice in shaping evidence-based care. I have served on national committees, engaged in global collaborations, and contributed to high-impact education and advocacy efforts. I would be honoured to represent our chapter on the Board of Governors, championing equity, innovation, and collaboration across our profession.

ACP Chapter and Leadership Activities: I have been a member of the ACP Ontario Board of Directors. My involvement in ACP dates to 2009 when I joined as a medical student. I have served as Chair of the Ontario Chapter Council of Medical Students, Chair of the Ontario Chapter Council of Resident Physicians, and more recently Chair of Education and Scholarship Committee. I began the McMaster-ACP Sim Session in 2014 as an Internal Medicine Resident Physician and have been involved since. This has become an annual workshop, hosted concurrently with our annual chapter conference.

Candidate Statement: I am honored to seek the role of Governor for the ACP Ontario Chapter. I have remained deeply engaged with the ACP since medical school and remember presenting my first research poster at a local meeting. Since then I have served as Member-at-Large, on the Governor's executive council and most recently as Treasurer. I have had the privilege of serving on multiple committees including Membership, Governors Selection and Awards committees. I have been involved with annual conference planning for the last decade in roles as co-chair, host of Doctor’s Dilemma, simulation session coordinator, and represented our chapter locally as a faculty representative. My involvement has deepened my commitment to supporting internists and trainees through mentorship, advocacy, and professional development. I envision strengthening our community by fostering inclusive engagement, empowering early-career physicians, and advocating for system-level improvements in internal and hospital medicine.

Am I eligible to vote?

Eligible voting members are MACPs, FACPs, Members, and 2-year Resident/Fellow members with an elect date of 9/1/2023 or earlier.

Honorary Fellows, Student Members, Non-Physician Affiliates, Physician Affiliates, and Traditional Graduate Members are not eligible to vote.

What if I cannot find my ballot?

First, check your spam or junk folder for your ballot email. The subject of that email is "Vote Now! ACP 2025 Governor-elect Election Voting Information". If you still cannot find the ballot email, contact SBS at support@directvote.net or call toll-free 1-866-909-3549 for a replacement.

How do I update or change my ACP membership status or category so I may vote?

Please contact ACP Member and Product Services at help@acponline.org or call 215-351-2600. Once your membership is active/current, contact Julie Sinkoff at jsinkoff@acponline.org. She will confirm your voting eligibility and request ballot materials be sent to you.
