California Internal Medicine Review & Update Course
Registration for the California Internal Medicine Review & Update Course, July 25-26, 2026, is now open.
This virtual course is designed for Internal Medicine Residents, Fellows and Attending Physicians who are interested in a focused review of Internal Medicine in preparation for taking board certifying or recertifying examinations or the in-training examination.

Beyond the Risk Assessment: Suicide Prevention Skills for Physicians
Join the ACP Hawaii, California Southern 1 & 2, Nevada and Arizona chapters for joint a webinar September 19, 2026
This webinar will be led by two suicide prevention trainers from the Hawai'i Governor's Challenge to Prevent Suicide in Service Members, Veterans and Families Lethal Means Safety workgroup. They will teach suicide prevention microskills applicable to the clinical and community setting, including recognizing commonly overlooked cues that indicate the need to evaluate suicide risk, providing an overview of widely used screening and assessment tools, and describing practical interventions to support individuals at elevated risk for suicide, including safety planning strategies and approaches to reducing access to four important types of lethal means.

2026 California Southern Regions I & II Poster Competition
The ACP Southern California Chapters I & II Poster Competition is now taking submissions! Submit your entry here
Electronic posters will be accepted into one of three categories:
- Clinical Vignettes – cases that illustrate a rare disease, or an unusual or interesting clinical
presentation of an established disease entity - Research – clinical and/or lab research, delineating a new investigation into mechanisms
of disease or a detailed review of a clinical problem - QI/Innovation – area quality improvement, safety projects or other areas of innovation in
healthcare.
Specifications:
- One poster per first author may be submitted.
- No edits are allowed once the electronic posters are submitted. Please ensure that all errors are corrected before submitting. It is highly recommended that a faculty mentor at your institution reviews your work prior to submission.
- If the first author is not available to present the poster, then a co-author can do so.
The deadline to submit an electronic poster is 12:00 PM PST on Monday, August 17, 2026.
